For instance, a language model generates text based on previous words in a conversation, while an image-generation model creates visuals by blending elements learned from millions of images. 

While generative AI is excellent for content production and creative tasks, it does NOT inherently observe, assess, or take independent action—this is where agentic AI comes in.

Agentic AI is a more advanced form of artificial intelligence that doesn’t just generate information—it actively interacts with its environment, makes decisions, and performs automated tasks without the need of constant human oversight. If a response is needed (e.g., issuing a warning, alerting authorities, etc.), agenic AI takes action automatically. 

This humanlike ability to evaluate and respond effectively is what makes agentic AI ideal for security where real-time responses can mean the difference between life or death. Agentic automation ensures that these AI systems continuously learn from new threats so they stay one step ahead of bad actors.

“But the human is still part of the puzzle,” said Lindsey. “The security guard isn’t being completely displaced by AI. What the human is really good at is dealing with the exceptions to what the AI has been trained to deal with. The idea is to automate deterrence and then escalate to a human. So security guards are really only needing to take that last level of deterrence, that 10%. So for every 10 incidents they normally would be dealing with, they're only dealing with one now.”
